YWTT is part of The Education Alliance, a Multi Academy Trust based in the East Riding of Yorkshire, with primary and secondary schools across the region.
We are committed to developing close, lasting relationships with our trainees, which provides them with a strong basis from which to build an exceptional career. Many of our trainees find their first employment in the trust or at one of their placement schools during their training.
We nurture and strive to retain home-grown talent and have a clear focus on ensuring that our trainees finish our programme in the strongest possible position to begin their teaching career.
We are developing an Alumni to be extremely proud of and always love hearing about the successes of the YWTT family.

Kyle
“The support I received from YWTT was second to none. They are a warm, friendly and supportive community where you are challenged to be the best teacher that you can be. Their subject knowledge sessions helped me to understand how children learn best, and the sessions on pedagogy were invaluable. Extra sessions such as ‘how to be a good form tutor’ gave me a much broader understanding of the role of a teacher.
YWTT will arm you with the tools not only to prepare you for your NQT/RQT years, but also for your future Career. I can honestly say, I in my third year as a Senior Leader, that I still routinely draw upon those tools I developed from YWTT.
These are more systemic things such as being a highly reflective practitioner; understanding the core process of planning, implementing, reviewing and improving.
The key thing that ultimately stays with me from YWTT, is the understanding that we are never the finished article in the teaching profession: we can always improve, always strive to be “even better”, and that we must never stop learning and developing ourselves.
Teaching really is the best job in the world, but it is hard job. YWTT will prepare you well for the challenges ahead, but if you are serious and passionate about giving young people a great start in life, I would say that YWTT is definitely for you.”
Kyle trained to teach with YWTT and is now an Assistant Headteacher at an 11-18 secondary school in the East Riding.

“I’ll always be immensely grateful for the course and the support I was given at YWTT. I genuinely don’t believe I’d be in the profession if it wasn’t for them, but as it is, I’m further on than I ever expected – undertaking senior roles within my academy is a huge honour and there isn’t a day that I don’t look forward to going into school. It really is the most fulfilling thing I’ve ever done.”
Ryan is currently a Head of House and the Curriculum Leader of PSHCE. He has also started a new school charity from scratch in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust after one of his students tragically died, raising over £15,000 in 8 weeks.
Ben
“Prior to joining, one of the biggest selling points to YWTT was their outstanding Ofsted. Having gone through their programme, I agree with Ofsted, my experience was above and beyond!
YWTT have a well-trained and reassuring team of mentors that were there to support and challenge me throughout my training. There was one dedicated mentor during my training year who met with me each week to go through my progress and help me set targets for the following week.
Following that up, the subject immersion days in Mathematics were carefully sequenced by an excellent practitioner. This has set me up to be the best teacher I can.”
Ben successfully completed his training with YWTT and is now a teacher of Maths, Further Maths, Business Studies and Economics.
